Their energy levels are always very high, and they need to expend this energy somewhere in a useful fashion. Children get bored easily, and once they are bored the tantrums and the moodiness takes over.

Parents are always on the lookout for things to do which will not only keep the children occupied but will also not make a hole in their wallets. Often it seems as if the only games or activities that the children enjoy are those which cost too much or are not easily available. Specially if they are teenagers, then there are very few ways in which they can be persuaded to stay at home or join in activities with the family.
